Twin Lakes Wildlife Management Area is located approximately 10 miles west of Lincoln, in Seward County, Nebraska. The easiest access to the lakes are off exit 388, approximately 1/2 miles north of the exit. The lakes are approximately 255 water acres combined surface area, with the west lake being very shallow and turbid. The area is closed to all access during waterfowl hunting season.
The Nebraska State Game and Parks Commission lists East Twin as containing Walleye, Largemouth Bass, Bluegill, and Channel Catfish, Tiger Muskie and Walleye. The lake is good fishing for Channel Bass and Walleye in the spring where the fish venture into the shallows to feed.
West Twin lake is a somewhat overlooked lake. Although the lake is shallow and turbid, it produces several good sized catfish and bullhead. We caught most of the fish on nightcrawlers and chicken livers in about 18 inches of reedy water .
Facilities at Twin Lakes include primitive camping, restrooms, and primitive boat access.
