The Twin Lakes State Wildlife Management Areas (there is a north twin and a south twin) is located in Rock County, 18 miles south of Basset. Boating is allowed on the lakes, but are limited to 5 mile per hour speed limit. Upon our last visit we found that the northern access to the wildlife management area had been completely flooded out, and had been that way for some time. People were actually using the road as a boat ramp. (see pictures). The flooding increased the area of the lakes several times, so at this time I can take no accurate determination of the water acreage of the lakes. I have no idea if this condition is permanent, but some residents say that it may be. Many of the former facilities at the lakes were underwater also.
The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission lists the lake as containing Crappie, Largemouth Bass, Pike and yellow Perch.
