Wehrspann Lake is located just west of Omaha, in Douglass County, Nebraska. The Lake is approximately 245 acres, with all boats limited to a 5mph no-wake limit. The lake is maintained by the Papio Natural Resources District, and is an excellent park facility.
The Nebraska State Game and Parks Commission lists the lake as having good populations of Bluegill, Bullheads, Channel Catfish, Crappie, Largemouth Bass, and Walleye. Anglers should note there is a
21 inch minimum on Largemouth Bass, an 8 inch minimum on Bluegill, and a 10 inch minimum on Crappie. The lake has been one of the best crappie populations in the state, with aggressive Crappie even hitting at times on large crankbait we were using for Largemouth Bass.
Facilities at the lake are more towards a city than a state park or wildlife area.
Facilities include boat ramps, restrooms, paved trails, parking, and picnic facilities. There is also a wheelchair accessible fishing pier available.
