Lake Winters Creek is located 9 miles north of the city of Minatare, in Scotts Bluff County, Nebraska. The lake has approximately 235 acres of water, and is open to non-powered boating. Anglers should note that the lake lies within North Platte National Wildlife Refuge and is closed from October 1 to January 15 each year.

The Nebraska State Game and Parks Commission lists the lake as containing good fishable populations of Bluegill, Channel Catfish, Largemouth Bass, and Yellow Perch. We found fishing on this lake to be particularly enjoyable to fish. The view to the North is a beautiful vista of natural plains reaching to the scenic bluffs of the sandhills. The lake produced several good sized bass and an abundant supply of bluegill.

Facilities at Lake Winters Creek are sparse with only primitive boating access available. Additional facilities are available nearby at Lake Minatare.
